Ahaa iTake, That makes perfect sense, even to me. It wasn't a problem, nor a criticism, just seemed a bit bizarre. I did actually wonder if you had deleted all the old posts of recently ejected spammers. Regards Coggerz1 point

Much Appreciation! The dck972-976 was empty though. And ABSOLUTELY!! I'll throw them on mega right now. FYI! The Disc Code on my files are simply "SBI" Thank you for sharing this information. Yes, I did go to the site KaraokeDownloads.co.uk and it appears to be up and running with all of their brands, AA, SBI, MrEntertainer, and Abraxa. If they won't be producing anymore, i guess my go to sites will be karaokeversion and stingray? blah1 point

I think that may be it, as KSLC shows an SC8052 and a VPSC8052, both with different track lists. Perhaps the exclusive VocoPro, were unique and not the same as the standard SC8052. Anyway, looking through my drives, I found an otherwise unknown folder of Sound Choice. Which of course had the VPSC8051 disc. [Hidden Content]1 point

Where did you get the listings for these two discs?? HairyTerrier posted those two discs to usenet back in March of 2019 with completely different listings. Your 8051 is the same listing as on KSLC but not your 8052 which is the same as HairyTerrier's, and mine - but not the same as KSLC's listing1 point

PR1265 was released as a 'No Graphics' disc by Priddis. Although each track had a CDG sub-code on the disc, each track code contained one entry - EOF - to make it qualify as a synchronised track, either to make it compatible with some players or for licensing purposes. Pocket Songs did much the same on some of their disks, - the difference between PSxxxx and PSCDGxxxx - although they did have the grace to put their header page up to let you know it had no graphics!1 point

I remember back in the 80's, when I first started working as a host, the general feeling was that there would never be a need for more than a couple of thousand songs in a collection because someone could always find something they would like to sing in that songbook! When I finally went digital I was carrying around over 5,000 discs in gator cases (I never got used to those flip folder types, the fastners kept giving way!), and it was a hell of a time to rip all those discs, especially, as you say, the annying protections that producers put on their discs. I used to especially despise Sound Choice, who, as you mentioned really made it difficult to get to the last track on a disk... I had a bank of different Plextors, and a dedicated PC system (sort of based on the EK custom disc pc's you could find in many Karaoke shops of the time) because I found that some of the earlier Plextors coped with some disks better than the later ones. (Who remembers putting Adaptec SCSI boards in their PC's?) I even invested in a wax thermal transfer printer to label my working discs (I learned very early on that it was not wise to work with the originals - after having a flip case break on me damaging a whole load of Legends disks dropping edge on onto a cobbled street! - even though it was a risk to do so if caught out! As you also point out, having a well configured USB 'Windows To Go' stick, and a backup of your Karaoke Library and Main music tracks on a large backup SSD gives you far more lattitude in the event of a laptop failure unless you are a belt and braces guy like me who carts around 3 identically configured 17" laptops with registered copies of working software on each (You ever tried to de-register a copy of Karma from a failed PC and register the software on another when you are in a location with no wifi and lousy cell reception?) and 10TB of SSD storage in each for my Karaoke, Music and Videos!1 point

I'll take your 'originals all the way' with one major exception. For karaoke I always play Geri Haliwell's 'It's Raining Men' although when playing disco I'll use the Weather Girls' original. The WG version has too much talking and too many asides for almost any singer to follow, and they get in a real mess.1 point

That's odd, I checked Experian this morning, and nothing had changed! lol!!! :)1 point

Has anyone ever come across a karaoke version of "You're Not Drinking Enough" by Don Henley? I've made a backing track for it (very simple, Guitar, Bass, Keys, Harmonica and Drums) but before I sync up the words I thought I would ask if it has already been done by anyone...1 point

This is quite a push I see happening here. It is nice to have the opportunity to share and receive many songs we have been missing in our own SC collections. Great effort!!! Cheers and thanks to all. Also, after getting the FBK225, Thanks @sacot1, I saw that I missed FBK223. If someone could please drop a link. Thanks.1 point

I have been tossing around the pros and cons of retaining the Vocal tracks. In the past decade, I think I might recall one person that actually asked for the vocal track. Keeping the full disc original vs maintaining and storage of 50% of your files that you may never ever use/need.1 point

i don't think so. these are standard cdg/mp3 files, so should play fine in any CDG player. try to extract it from zip and play it then. G.1 point
