The colour café au lait, is also known as coffee and milk or latte. It's a representation of the

colour of coffee mixed with milk, which when prepared commercially by a barista in a coffee

shop is known as a latte.

The first recorded use of cafe au lait as a color name in English was in 1839.

Erin

 

Erin is a colour that is halfway between green and spring green on the colour wheel. It is named

after Erin, a poetic name for Ireland.

 

One of the earliest known uses of the word "erin" to describe a colour appears in the poetry of

Jane Johnston Schoolcraft (1800–1842). In a poem titled To the Pine Trees, Schoolcraft reflects on

her arrival back to North America after spending years in England she writes "Not all the trees

of England bright, / Not Erin's lawns of green and light / are half so sweet to memory's eye, As

this dear type of northern sky

Hollywood Cerise

 

In the 1950s, a popular brand of colored pencils, Venus Paradise, had a colored pencil

called Hollywood cerise which was this color.

 

Before being renamed Hollywood cerise in the 1940s, the color had been known, since

its inception in 1922, simply as Hollywood
