Administrator Report Posted July 1, 2023 [HEADING=2]The Rolling Stones[/HEADING] The Rolling Stones are a British rock band formed in London in 1962 as "The Rollin' Stones". The first stable line-up consisted of founders Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar, vocals), bandleader Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica, and keyboards), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued to work with the band as a contracted musician until his death in 1985. The band's primary songwriters, Jagger and Richards, assumed leadership after Andrew Loog Oldham became the group's manager. 2

Administrator Report Posted July 2, 2023 Toad the Wet Sprocket Toad the Wet Sprocket is an American alternative-rock band which consists of singer Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning, and drummer Josh Daubin. The band enjoyed chart success in the 1990s with singles including "Walk on the Ocean", "All I Want", "Something's Always Wrong", and "Fall Down". The band broke up in 1998 to pursue other projects but in 2006 began touring the United States again in small-venue, short-run tours. In December 2010, the band announced their official reunion as a full-time working band and started writing songs for their first studio album of new material since their 1997 Columbia Records release, Coil. 3

The members were brought together by auditions, and the X.Y.Project was started by Gary Barlow and some more big names in the music industry. XYP released their debut single Body to Body in november 2006 in The Netherlands. Climbing to the top spot of the Dutch Top 40 in 5 weeks, Body to Body was an immediate success. XYP member Bart Voncken already had chart success in the past when he achieved a #1 hit with his former band K-otic. XYP's second single called "Confessions" is to be released in The Netherlands on 16th February 2007. 3

Administrator Report Posted July 4, 2023 [HEADING=2]The Zombies[/HEADING] The Zombies are an English rock band formed in 1962 in St Albans and led by keyboardist and vocalist Rod Argent and vocalist Colin Blunstone. The group scored British and American hits in 1964 with "She's Not There". In the US, two further singles—"Tell Her No" in 1965 and "Time of the Season" in 1968—were also successful. Their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle is ranked number 100 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The Zombies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. The Zombies signed to Decca and recorded their first hit, "She's Not There" after winning a beat-group competition sponsored by the London Evening News. 3

Administrator Report Posted July 4, 2023 [HEADING=2]The Blues Brothers[/HEADING] The Blues Brothers are an American blues band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd, respectively in character as lead vocalist "Joliet" Jake Blues and harpist/vocalist Elwood Blues, fronted the band, which was composed of well-known and respected musicians. The band made its debut as the musical guest on the April 22, 1978, episode of Saturday Night Live. The band then began to take on a life beyond the confines of the television screen, releasing an album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978, and then having a Hollywood film, The Blues Brothers, created around its characters in 1980. 3

Administrator Report Posted July 5, 2023 [HEADING=2]Everything but the Girl[/HEADING] Everything But the Girl (EBTG), was a Hull, Yorkshire, UK, folk-pop / trip-hop duo of Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn. They débuted with a single for a Cole Porter cover, Night And Day (Mar 1982, Cherry Red). Their final album was Temperamental (Sept 1999, Virgin). Ben met Tracey when they were at Hull University and she was singing in pop girl-band Marine Girls. Ben contributed a photograph, for a forthcoming album cover, after which, the pair became partners (later getting married). 3
