If you are as passionate about Formula 1 as I am, you're in the right place.

The wait is almost over. A new Formula 1 season is almost here.

The season starts in just a couple of days, at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.

If you have a favorite driver, or favorite team, come and let us know.

Discuss the race, the teams, the drivers. Post your favorite pictures, or video.

I have the feeling that Red Bull are not going to have the luxury of the best race car this year, after loosing their aerodynamicist, Adrian Newey to Aston Martin. Not to mention the most young drivers ever to start a season.

This is going to be an interesting season.

See you on Race Day... 🥰

PS... My driver is Hammy. Go Lewis.

2025 Australian Grand Prix qualifying

4T0e1Za.jpeg

Norris had his first lap deleted after running wide at Turn 4, but hit back hard to head a front-row lockout for F1 2025 title favourites McLaren.

Red Bull driver and reigning World Champion Max Verstappen was forced to settle for third, almost four tenths off Norris’s time, with George Russell’s Mercedes in fourth.

Yuki Tsunoda was arguably the star of qualifying in securing fifth for Racing Bulls, with his last-gasp Q3 lap dropping the impressive Alex Albon to sixth.

Charles Leclerc edged out Lewis Hamilton in their first qualifying session as Ferrari team-mates as the pair took seventh and eighth respectively.

Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Williams driver Carlos Sainz completed the top 10.

Elsewhere, it was disappointment for Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Liam Lawson and Oliver Bearman as the three rookies exited in Q1.

Mercedes reported bib damage to Antonelli’s car after his W16 was seen sparking heavily in Q1, while Lawson could only manage 18th on his first visit to Albert Park after an engine issue saw the Red Bull driver fail to set a time on Friday practice.

Bah! Bally Hamilton. I'm not knocking what he has achieved, a hell of a lot but, go Verstappen 😁

I hope Russel has learnt how to finish things, sets himself up for the win so well, a phenomenal tallent, then finds a way to 🤬 it up.

Top Topic Post, nice one SkyD.

Really looking forward to this packed 24 race season. It's promising to be a blinder. The intrigue of Hamilton at the legends Ferrari, will he tank it because he is ancient, will they tank it with another nearly car. Old man Alonso and his fountain of youth. Max the unbelievable natural talent with his experience in what seems to be not the miles ahead car it was. And McLaren. 2 future World Champions in the best car.

4AM start is a bit early, should be doable. Don't fancy tanking my seed ratio to download an 8GB file because I fancied a Sunday rest. 😀

2025 Australian Grand Prix - Round 1

wOFi0v6.jpeg

Round 1 in MELBOURNE, Australia.  McLaren’s Lando Norris won a chaotic rain-affected Australian Grand Prix, his first victory at Albert Park, with the British driver just managing to stay ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen following a third safety car late in Sunday’s season-opening Formula 1 race.

Lewis Hamilton had a miserable Ferrari debut. The seven-time champion finished 10th and was annoyed by constant radio messages from his pit team.

Norris started Melbourne’s first wet race since 2010 from pole position and initially came under increasing pressure from his teammate Oscar Piastri, who set a series of fastest laps until his team told him to hold position. Later, the Australian driver spun at the penultimate corner on lap 44 as the rain intensified and dropped down the order.

A late-race fightback helped Piastri recover to take ninth place including passing Lewis Hamilton on the final lap,  and two championship points.

Verstappen finished 0.895 behind Norris after starting from third on the grid, and took advantage of Piastri’s misfortune and the final safety car and tire stops. Mercedes’ George Russell closed out the top-three.

Mercedes was thrilled to get two cars in the top four, with Russell on the podium, his first since winning in Las Vegas last year. Rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who replaced Hamilton on the team, showed his class with a superb fightback drive from 16th on the grid, following his qualifying exit, to finish fourth – after his 5-second penalty for an unsafe pit stop release was successfully appealed.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll also made the best of the chaotic conditions to move up from 13th to sixth, ahead of Sauber’s Nico Hülkenberg, bringing home eight points in what has been a difficult weekend for the team with its car uncompetitive in dry conditions.

Ferrari is one of the most successful constructors at the Australian Grand Prix, with 11 wins since its first in 1987, but it will leave Melbourne disappointed with just five points after Charles Leclerc finished eighth and Hamilton 10th.

The Scuderia was seen as a potential championship challenger ahead of the season but has plenty of work to do ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix next week.

The Melbourne race had a thrilling start with Racing Bull’s Isack Hadjar out on the formation lap, and Alpine’s Jack Doohan joining Sainz in crashing out on the opening lap.

There were just 14 finishers, after Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso hit the turn eight barriers on lap 34, while Red Bull’s Liam Lawson and Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto crashed out of the race 10 laps from home in the treacherously wet conditions.

What a start to the season. 🤯

If the next 23 races are like that it will be an amazing season for the spectator. Not so much for the drivers. Those 6 new children drivers, that are the same age as Luke Littler, will look the same age as Luke Littler come December.

Thanks Sky for the topic and race update. I love it.

That was a great race. If that's the start of whats to come, the rest of the season is going to be amazing.

Damn those McLarens are fast.

Good choice Pootle, another Max fan.

Lets go get that 5th championship.

Yes, it was a very exciting race.

Congratulations to Lando Norris on a spectacular drive. That was a lot of pressure from both his teammate and Max, in extremely treacherously wet conditions.

There is way too many Max Verstappen fans in here.... 😆

Seriously though, although I'm not a Max fan, I can't ignore that he is hugely talented.

Go Hammy.
