  10. Yep, entrenched and intrusive - I became heartily pissed off with Windows trying to thrust the program down my throat every time that I opened a Dos Box. I did try (at that time) to find a list of commands online, but was unable to so do. Worse, openng the program gave me no guidance at all on how to use the program. I'm lazy, running Win8.1 and I have just opened PowerShell - here's a screen grab As you can see there's an almost illegible screen. Maximising leaves the window at the same width just maximizes it top to bottom. No help available from F1 or from the single drop-down menu and as I said previously no easily-found on-line list of commands and how to use them. Looking at the scripts that you very helpfully provided reminds of my mid-80s experiences of CP/M and a few years after that my (very) brief peek at Unix. I habitually use a Dos Box for small actions which would mean going all around the houses in Windows and haven't written or needed to write a batch script this century, probably not since the early 90s It is well documented, so not sure why you would have any trouble finding out about the commands. It is infinitely more powerful that what you can do with batch files and almost any other scripting language. This is the thing, I don't want to write and run scripts for small tasks with all of the checking testing and debugging that that would entail (and not use from year to year after writing it) when there is almost certainly a program out there that will do the job for me; I simply don't have the time for it - which is why I posted here for info about a program that did what I want That's very easy to get around, just de-select Options >> Delete source file after successful conversion. That's easy to circumnavigate, EZ-CD now has a Search facility of it's own which is accessible from Add Files and doesn't use the Windows Search facility, I don't remember seeing it before, so it's a welcome addition.
  11. <<More Snip>> Thank you for the assist. I I had looked at EZ-CD but the interface has changed since I last used it, and I didn't recognise it. EZ-CD was the program that I used in the past and it does exactly what i want without having to use PowerShell, (for which I have never been able to find a guide to the commands, unlike DOS which I've usd since God was a boy ) As I noted in my previous post, I open EZ-CD. Then I open Windows Explorer at the folder where I want all FLAC files to be converted and do my search, Explorer always includes sub-folders. Then drag the results into EZ-CD. In Options I select [Delete source file after successful conversion] De-select Output folder. As a personal preference I then select in DSP: Loudness normalisation -6. Prevent clipping. Delete digital silence from the beginning. Delete digital silence from the end. Then I click on convert and a little later, depepnding on the number of files, the program lets me know that it's finished.
  12. You're reading more into what I want than what I'm asking I had the program and it worked very well, but haven't needed to use it for a while and it's been lost in the midst of HD and computrer and OS changes. It was a simple operation; Open program. Using Windows Explorer go to the top of the directory tree. Search for FLAC. Drag the resultant files (excluding directories of course), into the program window. Make sure that my MP3 options are set to how I want them. Ensure that the target directory is set to 'Source'. Decide whether to keep original FLAC files or not after conversion. Start conversion. In this particular instance the source tree had 478 FLAC (plus another thousand or so WMA files) scattered amongst 143,000 files in the tree - all downloaded from usenet a few years back.
  13. I did mention t, but some seem not to have reead that bit. The program should take random files from various folder, convert them, And then place the new mp3 into the same folder that the FLAC is in, with an option to delete the FLAC after conversion.
  14. I have a heap of FLAC audio files to convert to mp3. Way back in the past I had a program that would take a bunch of FLAC files , convert them, and then put them into the same directory as the originatng mp3. I have two programs here, EZ-CD and free:ac but neither seem to have that option for me to use; they're fine for doing a folder at a time, but not for multiple folders or odd FLACS sprinkkled around a bunch of mp3s Anybody out there know of a program that will do it for me please ?? cheers BJ
  15. Have you applied for uploader status ?? Miss Kitti is one of the major mods here (and started this discussion group), Dropping her a PM with your KaT name may assist your application. NOt saying that it will, but possibly .
  16. You may have noticed. That when I post links here, I post torrents rather than links to private sharing sites. Thats' so that everybody out there that likes and wants karaoke can download what I share, rather than just the dozen or so people that read this forum. If people seed what I post it'll be available for a longer time as well. IMHO, private links is hoarding rather than sharing. I will admit that I do share via. private links; but that is for purposes due to the easy traceability of what's shared (not just karaoke either), and requests from homebrew karaoke producers. But if you have qualified as an uploader here surely it's more for the common good if you post a torrent rathern than a private link?? Likke I said, just my opinion

  19. [Hidden Content] Lists 201 as George Strait vol 6. I don't have a disc for 197, just made the cover from what I was sent. Anybody have an original disc for SFWS197 ???
  20. It's not actually weird or even funny, it just shows how many people want to put themselves out and share the wealth with the world. If you really want the disc then go to: SFWS141 And if you want the Marvin Gaye disc then go to: SFWS156 If you DO happen to acquire either of these discs then please rip them and share them with the rest of us I bought many of these and put them out there in the wild for all to enjoy. The only place that I could find most of them was on the other side of the world, and they came to me at exhorbitant prices with sky-high delivery costs. Others I made up by purchasing the tracks that I didn't have, and then making custom covers for them. SFWS141 was one of the last that was actually available to obtain, but then a combination of raised transport prices and then Covid arriving and the seller shut down because it was simply uneconomic Are you after this disc because you need it ??? Or are you simply filling a gap?? There are many out there that are more than happy to grab whatever they can for free and just go on doing it, and many others that collect and then help out others by putting up what they have collected. But I only know of one person in recent years that bought discs and then ripped and torrented them, and he has largely lost interest even though he still has hundreds of discs remaining to be ripped.
  21. Have you tried asking in the Karaoke Discussion group ?????
  22. TRy looking at the Mr Entertainer Chart Update that I torrented a couople of weeks ago
  23. Not at all sure what you mean by that, 'free' to try out stuff ? All of the karaoke that Sacot and I post here is free, (well, I pay for what I torrent and then post it here at no charge) and neither of us put the word 'free' in our Subject headers. So please explain what you're asking
  24. Latest releases ?? Do you mean karaoke, music or software ?? I've been away from torrent posting for a while but am now back and have just posted the new Zoom and Mr Entertainer rleases. Just search in music for KARAOKE and you'll find them. You'll also find Sacot posts new stuff here - Dream Catcher, CC and FunBox home made karaokes as well as other stuff which comes his way and he reposts for us all here.
  25. You might have noticed that I've started torrenting again after a hiatus of nearly a year. Couple of new ones first, then I'm re-ripping some Omnibus discs that are 20 years old or so.
