The band formed in 1980 in Liverpool and found success in the mid-1980s, releasing seven singles that made the UK top 40 and three albums on the UK top 30. At the peak of their success, the lineup consisted of Pete Burns (vocals), Steve Coy (drums), Mike Percy (bass) and Tim Lever (keyboards), with the core pair of Burns and Coy writing and producing for the remainder of the band's career. Two of the band's singles reached the U.S. top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100: "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" and "Brand New Lover".

  3. [HEADING=2]The Animals[/HEADING] The Animals were a British rock band of the 1960s, formed in Newcastle. They were part of the British Invasion, being one of the most popular bands of their era. Known for their gritty, raw, bluesy sound and hard-voiced frontman Eric Burdon, as exemplified by their signature songs House of the Rising Sun and Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, the band underwent numerous personnel changes, while influencing the later heavy metal music with the riffs of their rock songs such as We Gotta Get Out Of This Place and It's my Life. They emerged as an exponent of psychedelic music before dissolving at the end of the decade.

  5. [HEADING=2]You Say Party! We Say Die![/HEADING] You Say Party (known as You Say Party! We Say Die! until June 2010) is a dancepunk band which formed in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada in 2004. The band consists of Becky Ninkovic (vocals), Derek Adam (guitar), Stephen O'Shea (bass) and Krista Leowen (keyboards). The band took a brief hiatus in the Spring of 2010 after drummer Devon Clifford died of a brain hemorrhage on April 18, 2010 two days after collapsing on stage during a show in Vancouver. On June 22, 2010, the band announced they had changed their name to "You Say Party" and also announced that keyboardist Krista Loewen had left the band.

Both based in Oslo, they started making music together sometime in late '98 or early '99. After about a year of playing, sampling, programming and focused tune writing; they decided it was time to let the public hear what they'd been up to. About 22 hours after first shipment, record companies were on the phone, and 4 months later, 5 out of 6 tracks had been released on various labels. The quintet is fronted by Ramesh Srivastava and also includes Jason Chronis, Mitch Calvert, Matt Simon, and Jared Van Fleet. Their debut, Raised by Wolves EP was released in 2005 under their own independent label, Cult Hero Records. In March of 2006, Voxtrot released their second EP entitled, Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives EP, which was followed by Your Biggest Fan in November of that year. Voxtrot released their first full length album on May 22, 2007. It was eponymously titled Voxtrot. The first single from that album, Blood Red Blood, was released on May 14, 2007.

Between 1968 and 1973, the band scored eight Top 40 albums in the UK Albums Chart, twelve albums in the US Billboard 200, and are best known for tracks such as "I'm Going Home", "Hear Me Calling", "I'd Love to Change the World" and "Love Like a Man". Their musical style is blues rock and hard rock. Originally from Nottingham in the UK, this band of virtuoso musicians under the leadership of Alvin Lee conquered the UK scene and then spread their wings to the USA. Their blend of jazz, blues and rock was initially slightly awkward but their first album provided an opening for them.

  14. [HEADING=2]Quietdrive[/HEADING] Quietdrive is an alternative rock band based in Hopkins, Minnesota that formed in 2002. Perhaps best known for their songs "Africa" and "Time After Time", the band consists of Kevin Truckenmiller (vocals, guitar, violin bass), Will Caesar (guitar, vocals), Brice Niehaus (bass), and Brandon Lanier (drums). Quietdrive released their debut album, titled 'When All That's Left Is You', on May 30, 2006 through Epic Records. The band takes influences from contemporary alternative music as well as melodic hard rock groups.
