Torrentgalaxy.to is still down.. And so is .mx and tor as well.

I'm checking it every hour. So tell me how you get on there...

Be careful for any fakes.

My apologies, you are correct, I was confused by your simple statement

    [    Still down..    ]

with no other reference and I assumed (never a good thing to do I know)

that you were referring to our happy home at GLO; I did check for earlier

postings from you in this thread but couldn't find any.

I too am amongst the many that are missing our daily pop into TGX to

see what's happening there.

Best regards.

I am hoping the new site moderators sort it soon, like GLO, they were asking for donations to keep it alive (after the takeover), it was always my backup for GLO if anything happened here....

Ermm, which takeover are you referring to?

You getting worried? lol. The TGX takeover, not ours.

Tbh it was the worst thing that the old owner could've done...

The way it looks atm the new owners have no experience in running a site...

So sad.... 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Well I stopped visiting due to issues with (lack of) moderation, but I considered its days numbered when they started begging for money.

If you take over running a site, you should know how much it costs to run, and where the money is coming from, for at least a year+ in advance.

As I said before, using hosting in Ukraine seems really bizarre, did they forget its at war, with its energy grid & communications repeatedly targeted.

Why did they sell it? Tired of keeping it running... or something else, I always thought you were in charge of the site

I wish that was true... Then it wouldn't have happened at all.

They tried to change things but ended up breaking it...

They never heard about the saying...

Why fix it if it isn't broken...

Just lookup the IP address for 'torrentgalaxy.to' in DNS.

It's an IP hosted with "vsys.host" in their Ukraine DC (in Kyiv).

Even worse, if you lookup 'torrentgalaxy.mx' - that's pointed at 127.0.0.1 - so never going to work !

Vsys.host is a hosting service and it is probably used as a proxy..

TGx had a ad and it seemed to work because before the takeover the donation link was closed. Which implied that there wasn't a shortage of income.. After the takeover it disappeared. Even tho they did get multiple offers for ads on the site they didn't took up the offer(s).

And with the donations they got just over 2k..

Don't think that it covers the costs they made so far..

So I hope it's not a case of... Take the money and run... 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Maybe, but it doesnt really matter if thats the final server or just a proxy.

Either way its in Ukraine, and all TGX traffic (on the .to domain) is routed via it.

.mx has been killed off, since it now points to localhost.

The ongoing issues made Torrentfreak today.
