One of the regulars here PM'd me with a question, and it may be that others here might

like to use the answer

Hi BJ quick upload question

When you get to the glo part how do you copy and paste or say place a track listing in the description

Not sure what you're asking. but here goes:

The way that I list the content of a torrent is to:

1. Go to the directory and copy the Path in the top line, say it's on drive F: and a directory called YOUR

DIRECTORY then select F:\YOUR DIRECTORY

2. Open a DOS box by right-clicking on Start and selecting Command Prompt.

3. Select the drive where you files are, say if they're in F Drive the type " F: " and the the Enter key - the

Command Prompt on the left shoudld now read F:\>

4. Type CD and then a space and then press Ctrl+V to paste the Path that you copied in 1. above, into

the DOS box and then press Enter again; the Command Prompt will now look like F:\YOUR DIRECTORY

5. If you want to list the entire directory then type DIR to find out the options for that command type

DIR/? and you'll get a full list of the command options.

6. To get a bare listing of the file names then type

DIR/b

7. To only list files of one type then specify the type by using the wildcard symbol * and the filetype that

you want. Say all ZIP fgiles then the command is

dir/b *.zip

or for text files it would be

dir/b *.txt

8. To get the directory listing into a usable state then you need to change the output of the DIR command

from the screen to a text file. Do the by using the > symbol which directs the output to the input of

another program.

9. So the command

dir/b *.zip>zipfiles.txt

will list the zip files in the directory in a bare format and input them into a text file named zipfiles.txt

10. BTW in DOS (Command mode) there's no difference between upper and lower case letters which is why

it changes change in the descriptions above.

11. Open the text file by double-clicking on it in Explorer or typing the name of the file in Command Mode

it will then open in Notepad.

12. Once the file is open in Notepad then you can tidy it up by editing the content - if you need to remove

the .ZIP extensions then do the following in Notepad;

a: type Ctrl+H which will open the Replace box

b: then type .zip into the Find What: box

c: then press Alt+A to remove all of the zip extensions and leave you with a plain list of the filenames,

d: then save the file by pressing Ctrl+S

This is probably the same as Sharkies but i listened and watched it, there is some small minor glitches right at the end in the on screen lyrics but can still be read easily and the music has no glitches at all.

Replying to myself here. Found a prog called Capture One which does the job

but now I'm completely at a loss.

Dragged a JPEG into the proggy and adjusted the image beautifully, but can't

figure out how to save the image and start with a new one.

The normal things like Ctrl+F4 to close a window don't work and if I close the

program the same old image is right back there.

All I want to do is open a JPEG, adjustthe keystone on it and then save the image.

But I AM DAMNED if I can figure it out.

Anubodyhere know the program ??

Not sure, but I think that you may have found my solution my friend.

Or you can D/L software if you don't want to use DOS (No offence BJ).

is One such, you can add it to your right click context menu, so done in 2 clicks! but there are plenty of them on the market.
This is the hidden content, please
. In BJ's Scenario he would use "Karens" as it can also write the SHA Hash tag for torrenting.

Happy Easter around the World to all the Christians. Time to get the religious karaoke out! Pop down to the local Church and get a gig. You wouldn't get paid for it, for what great PR to a potentially new audience! Has anybody ever done that?

Thing is, I like DOS and I know how to get things done with it. Used it long before

Windows, loved DR-DOS which was so much better than MS-DOS.

I went to the URL for Karen's and got to a list of programs, selected the link to

Karen's

This is the hidden content, please
which had a link to

Download Karen's Directory Printer which linked to

This is the hidden content, please

which linked to a PHP file - DOWNLOAD.PHP.

Hmmm, searched for the program on the interweb and finally found somewhere to

download it, found a LINK at UPTODOWON.COM AND FINALLY MANAGED TO GET

THE INSTALL FILE.

Installed the program and searched from the Start button, nope - not there. Then I

looked and found that there was no link on the desktop either; no problem - it must

a right-click option, but nope not there either.

In the end I went to the install directory and started the program from there, but in

the options there's no way of putting on right-click - which to me would be the obvious

place to put it.

I'll check out some of those other progs tomorrow.

BTW, do you know of any mass directory renamer apart from ExplorerXP ??
