And that's how easily it is done!!

Even worse, when the artist or 'Producer' releases a different version or versions of the song (Slow version, Unplugged, Candlelight version, DJ 'TwatFace' Remix etc ), not mention the different Radio/Single/Album edits.

Then of course you have the Explicit/Clean versions, no wonder we all need multi Terrabyte hard drives just for our karaoke tracks!

Even the Track producers don't always use the right naming of tracks when they issue them!

I watched the video, I thought he was performing at a wake! What a dirge...

Depending on the software you use to play out, you could always speed it up a bit!

Actually there is an easier way. Unzip the files with Windows Explorer, it has a built in zip manager. If you wish you can re-name the files in KJFM by first importing the files in Artist - Title - ID. You then have the option of Inserting KV- at the start of the DiscID - either one at a time, or as a batch task - (I prefer to use KVD- to denote a download rather than obtained from elsewhere), amd then choose the export option to rename the files in your preferred name structure.

 

If you happen to have it, it is also useful to re-zip the files (preferrably after using KJFM to maintain naming in and out of the zip files) using MP3+GTools. once again this runs best as a batch process, so move all the cdg and mp3 files to a seperate folder and then run the program on the folder.

I totally forgot about the bulk rename DiscID in KJFM. That is even easier than all options so far. Load the folder of KV into KJFM with the Test Zip Files For Corruption option selected, select all files, right click and Change DiscID/Replace entire DiscID to just KV. Then reload them into KJFM and it will change the compressed files to KV only. All one program and it scrubs all #s from everywhere.

Doing well. I saw from your attachment the other day you are using the Dreaded Karma... Same here, it has been a great program as far as I am concerned if you ignore the lousy customer service!

 

What do you do for your tween music? I used to use Karma to do both, but I changed over to having Serato or Virtual DJ running in the background, and just fade up between tracks depending on the type of event. I found it made Karma a lot more friendly, not having all my DJ music and Videos loaded into it as well.

I use PCDJ Dex3 and play MP4 music videos between singers. Depending on the audience, I have videos from the late 50's to the current charts, I have close to 4000 videos these days

I know! Spent the last couple of days upgrading and sync'ing up my laptops, (Master and two backups). I had let things get a little behind workwise recently. They now have 12Tb internal storage on 2x Samsung 870 EVO SSD's and 1x Sabrent M.2 NVMe. Also cleaned out the cooling fans, renewed the thermal paste on the CPU's and GPU's and replaced the internal batteries for slightly higher spec (anything to improve cooling and stability).

 

I now have a a little storage space flexibility, it was getting quite close to the wire for a month or so, until I changed the M.2 from 2 to 4TB, and I still have the flexibility to expand using Storage Spaces! And to think at one stage we were told "You wil never need more that 40Mb in hard drive storage"! (IBM PC AT advert, 1984 - My first home PC)

 

Sadly I don't think I could justify the expense of having MEGA Cloud storage space to put my whole set up as a share!

Damn, and here I was thinking I was doing good with my 90k music tracks.

It is even more frightening when you consider that the bulk of it was ripped from my DJ Collection manually! (I started DJ'ing in 1980 on vinyl, moving to CD in 1986, around the same time I got into Karaoke hosting. My first machine was a tape based system, and we used Lyrics Books for the singers. Then I got into the era of lugging around huge Laserdisc players, into VCD and CDG's until in 2002 I finally went digital with PCDJ KJ VRM in about 2002.

 

Ripping CDG's in the early days was no fun, I can tell you, especially with all the different 'Protection' systems around. For anyone who remembers those days, it was like trying to 'make' a working copy of your LOTUS 123 master Floppy Disk! (Anyone want a box of old Plextor drives?)

 

I don't remember when PCDJ licensed and released a product that they named 'Karaoki'; - not the current product of the same name - this was an early, buggy version of what we now know as 'Karma'. Anyway I bought into that, and have been using it ever since.

 

So you can see that, my collection has been building, both for music, video and Karaoke content for around 40 years. I have had equipment and disc thefts, (and made some very good friends in the industry who helped me out big time when my collection was stolen...), hard drive crashes, a roadie who decided to drop my laptop while setting up for a gig (nightmare!)... all those times when I could have lost everything, but thankfully through a lot of kindness, diligent backup procedures, and a vast amount of hard work, I have my collection intact, and I am very proud of it!

Odd, When I went into my MEGA account it was showing, but if I clicked on the link it wasn't there... I deleted the folder and re-uploaded it, and it now seems fine...
