Nikkodo/BMB, who were (and still are) primarily a Japanese Karaoke Equipment manufacturer, who also produced initially LaserDisc, and latterly CDG content to support theit players. They were represented in the US by NuTech. Nikkodo produced the SAV range of discs, which is why you can often see them under the NuTech, Nikkodo or BMB banners.

One of the quirky machines that Nikkodo/BMB produced was the portable 'Ninja' disk player that offered keychange, MPX support, Vocal Reduction, Chorus, Surround and Bass Boost, and even a primitive Overlay system that with the aid of an external camera, could put the singer up as the background with the lyrics overlaid on the feed by dropping out the background layer of the CDG signal. Sadly the internal batteries failed very quickly, and you had to run them with the Mains adapter, and the output was done using a cheap NTSC style composite converter that seemed to remove the green component on the output, making for some very interesting colour casts!

I really appreciate that. Nice bit of Karaoke history/trivia. For a "portable" unit, they really packed it with the features. Now when I see the BMB logo on a track, this bit of information will pop into my head. ;)

I still have two of them up in my loft, as well as a BMB three disk player that used a rotating platter to select the discs rather than the 3 drawer JVC one.

I used it for about five minutes after I bought it, because that thing would skip and jump even if you looked at it the wrong way... any vibration would cause total dropout!

First of all welcome to the Chat Room...

The files shared here, fot the most part, are only put up for a limited period of time from people's cloud shares. It works totally differently to the torrent site, where files are shared P2P and can be seeded for a long period of time.

I have also put my FBK collection up on MEGA (001-229) if anoyone has any missing, you can pick them up from

thanks for the explanation and the link

Weird one this.

Checking thu my HSWs and looking at HSW259, I found that track 1

was wrong, it should be The beautiful South - A Little Time, but

instead I have Fairground Attrcation - Perfect.

A Little Time isn't on any of the other HSW's that I have (although it

is, apparently on HSW229).

Anybody got, can put up please ??

cheers BJ

I must admit this intrigued me, so...

I went up in the loft, dug through my old disc folders and found my copy of 259...

Sure enough the disc label stated Track 1 as 'A Little Time', but when I put it in my player, the first track was actually what was listed as Track 2, 'The Clapping Song'.. All the other tracks that followed were as listed just offset one track, until Track 10, which, as I suspected was 'Perfect'.

Therefore, the cover and disc were both mis-labeled. I don't have a copy, physical or digital of HSW229 to check if 'A Little Time' in on that disc.

Exactly the same thing I found.

Just finishing up sorting and getting rid of the duplicates in my Pocket songs PS and my Pocket song JTG releases. Will be posting them after I send them up to Mega. Not complete sets, but there is a lot more there than is missing. 58.9 GB / 14,473 Files combined.

The JTG folder is being uploaded now.

Hi Folks.

May I ask if anyone knows if the track " Shagging The Night Away" ( No It's not rude... it's a dance!) by Chairmen Of The Board or The Showmen is available as a karaoke track? ( It's quite catchy by the way! )

I've searched for it but so far I've not come across anything.

If the track is non existent could I ask if anyone could kindly make it?

As always folks many thanks for all your help.

Best regards.
