DaveyDee Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 Had an odd night tonight, with a crowd of Young Americans in (No it wasn't a David Bowie tribute night!), and they asked for several songs I didn't have, not all of them new songs, but I guess more US-centric ones. Every time I searched for the tracks online, they showed up on PHM discs, which I have to admit are not even on my radar, let alone in my collection. Are PHM a thing in the US? I can't say I have ever heard of them, and definitely never come across any PHM coded discs or downloads. Are they still in existence, or have they sadly gone the way of so many other companies that didn't make the transition to Digital format? Has anyone got a share floating around and would it be worth investigating, or is it just a one off night that has thrown up so many PHM tracks?

Mind you I would happily accept any and all that you are wiling to share! 1

PHM collection would be a great share , i only have a couple of hundred tracks which are the odd track here and there from different discs.

That would be very much appreciated Scott, as apparently these young students are over here for a year, and have said they will be coming regularly to the gigs. Will be nice if I can suprise them with some of the music they would like to sing. One particular track that they asked for a few times last night was I Love College... Can't say I know the song, but they are obviously having a good time over here!

There a few other PopHits series : PHGH - Greatest Hits PHMCC - Country Coral PHMHR - Hot Rox PHMPP - Pop Power There was also the Top Hits Monthly company which had a collection more extensive than Pop Hits Monthly - my THM folder is just as unorganised as the PHM folder and runs to 125GB PH - ProHits, PH - Passion House and PHT - Pop Hits Today are all completely different companies. I had no ProHits product at all, and was actually totally unaware of the company until I had to search for the tracks last night.. (many thanks to Tylos for the recent share he put up!). Having listened to the quality of the tracks I would certainly be interested in expanding my acquisition of more of their product. As for Pop Hits today, I have a very limited selection of their discs, mainly due to only buying them on order for tracks that I was after at the time. At present I have four of their discs, but once again would welcome more if anyone were kind enough to share them. I can definitely attest to the fact that PassionHouse was totally unconnected with the other two companies, having enjoyed a friendship with Dudley and Bea for many years and their wonderful service whilst they ran their retail shop. Sadly, despite branching out into other areas of entertainment, they shut up shop in part due to the growth of digital avaliability of product. Dudley was also quite influential in getting media created by other producers, and supporting smaller producers by marketing their product. I believe he was also the first distributor of Priddis discs in the UK! Edited December 10, 2023 by DaveyDee
svenhoek66 Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 For me too if anyone has them, TIA Checking back on this one to see if anyone can help with large Spanish/Latin karaoke collection with a lot of releases from the last few years. Thanks.

They became Sing It Now (SIN) that did quarterly, rather than monthly, issues in Pop, Rock and Urban as well as a series of SINSS series (I can only assume that that's Singers Series) of individual singers, and there was a solitary SINA05SUM that was Adult Contemporary from Summer 2005.
