Retired Staff sacot1 Posted December 15, 2023 Retired Staff Report Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) Hi sacot1 I have some folders that are missing from you upload ://mega.nz/folder/EPRyyZqL#IMLJ3rFqZ16XWOuq0RsX8Q PHM 1995 Part, 2014 Part, SIN Also PHM1997-09 - Has 2x 12 But no track 14 PHM1997-12 is missing track 12 PHM1998 has a a copy of 1996 in it. Enjoy 1997 are indeed missing the 2 tracks but at least they're vocal tracks which don't get used in a show. Thanks for the PHM1995 I believe PHM started in October of that year so it's why there are only 3 folders in it. Not sure what you're saying about 1996 and 1998 as far as i can see they both contain different tracks. PHM changed their code to ryop in 2014 and then stopped after just 5 months. the other folder in your upload is marked Sing It Now but is actually PHM2010 disc 4. Edited December 15, 2023 by sacot1

billy1 Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Hi Billy, Not sure what was happening, If I went into my account, the folders were showing as ok, but if I followed the link several folders came up as undecrypted. I sent the entire folder to the Rubbish Bin, reuploaded the whole folder, and it appears to be ok now. Let me know if you have any more problems. That worked!! Thanks DaveyDee!

As to the others, any of them that you are happy to share would be greatly appreciated... I have a few Urbans and one AC disc folder, but I expect yours will be of better quality (bit rate, etc.) than the ones I have at present. I must admit, I tend to not carry Wvocal versions as - apart from rehearsal purposes - they have no real use in the show environment!!
wilkinp4 Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Does RYOC have a connection with PHN or PHM (whatever)? Hi Billy, RYOs are indeed Pop Hits. They changed name late in their timespan, like BJ said, and rebranded their discs as ROLL YOUR OWN Same as PH with various letters, A, M, C, etc.etc.
DaveyDee Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 (edited) Does RYOC have a connection with PHN or PHM (whatever)? Yes, they were both labels produced by Stellar Records. The change came about after an action for copyright infringement by Warner Publishing. RYO was subsequently added to the action, hence the reason they stopped producing under that banner. Tom, the CEO of Stellar was also responsible for product released under the American Gold, UKKaraoke, Rising Star, the original All Hits Karaoke (not the later stuff with the red label) and Megahits Karaoke lines, and produced a few titles for a few other labels such as Dangerous, etc. Edited December 15, 2023 by DaveyDee
Stevew Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Can I ask you kj’s what you have on your show hard drives or do you have a huge drive and take everything you have
DJChad Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Can I ask you kj’s what you have on your show hard drives or do you have a huge drive and take everything you have A single 2 TB drive should be more than enough for everything you might need.
DaveyDee Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Can I ask you kj’s what you have on your show hard drives or do you have a huge drive and take everything you have In my case, I have a two, identical, heavily modified laptops, with i7 processors, 32Gb Ram, and 12Tb of SSD internal storage (2 x 4TB Samsung 870 EVO and 1 x Samsung 990 PRO M.2) each. When I run a show, both laptops are run side by side, in case of failure of the laptop I am using at the time. Both laptops have fully licensed copies of both Karma and VIrtual DJ running on them, and the laptops and the digital mixer are connected to an APC Smart-UPS during shows. The 990's are configured with a 1Tb System partition, and a 3Tb partition for Karaoke tracks, currently holding 251,000 individual tracks, with 95,215 distinct songs, many obviously with multiple versions by diffrent producers. One of the 870's has a single 4Tb partition exclusively containing my music media, running into about 4.2Tb of tracks, covering a wide range of genres and eras. I keep my audio files mainly by Artist, except in the case of some specific labels, such as Atlantic, Motown, Trojan, Philly, Solar, Stax-Volt etc. as well as compilation labes like NOW, MOS, Hed Kandi, etc. There are distinct folders for Mastermix and CD Pool, as well as a few specific genres such as Northern Soul, Lovers Rock, Movie and Show OST. 50's/60's Rock and Roll, Irish, etc. where the number of albums warrant the separation. In addition, I have a Charts section that has Top 40's, buth current, and annually I break out the No. 1's and sum the tracks for each year. The other 870 is populated with Music Videos. These are split up into folders such as Decades, Producers such as Promo Only, etc. as well as Charts, and once again specific Genres, such as DanceHall/Reggaeton, Hip-Hop/RnB, Rock, Swing, Disco, Reggae etc. I currently have just under 104k of videos, but these are updated frequently. The two laptops are mirrored and synch'd automatically from a master drive array on my primary PC, which also acts as a backup and storage facility that I link to in case of emergencies when running shows, using a 5G mobile router and VPN. This also allows me to download tracks that are requested but not in my collection from the likes of Zoom, Mr Entertainer, Karaoke Version etc. and are automatically added to my laptops and Master storage at point of download. This is obviously just the way I organise my laptops and drives, I am sure there are many other ways to do it, but this is the system I have developed over time since going digital! 1
wilkinp4 Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 Can I ask you kj’s what you have on your show hard drives or do you have a huge drive and take everything you have Hi Vanburn, Still no joy with the ID? I throw all the tracks from each disc manufacturer into one folder, Name the Disc IDs A-Z after the artists eg PH-A, delete all the duplicate tracks, and leave the disc collection at home. I still have all the tracks with no duplicates, half the size needed, and if the drive gets nicked its no lose. Hard setting up, but once done, its a doddle. Been doing it this way for over 20 years, since I had an hard drive nicked!

Gives me a place to file them. : ) Appreciate you reponding.
