DaedalusWren Posted January 8, 2024 Report Posted January 8, 2024 Ok guys, and gals... I have just secured a job at a french club that could become a steady run. I have some french language Karaoke tracks, but more would definitely help. If any of you have French language tracks, I would appreciate the shares. Thanks in advance.

Hiya, Once again the issue of language based tracks, rather than genre, rears it's head... Do you have an idea of the types/styles of songs that are likely to be requested? You mention it is a French club, but is it a Hip-Hop/RnB club, a Jazz club, a Dance club, a club that is more Pop oriented, or even a Reggae club? I am sure if it is a younger crowd, then the collected works of Edith Piaf in karaoke form would be pretty much worthless, likewise if it is a more sedate social club, tracks by the likes of Dalida or Khaled wouldn't be of much use! Just throwing a language out there doesn't really help either side in knowing what would be of use. We had a similar situation recently with a request for Spanish language tracks, requesting 'recent' tracks, without specifically saying the tracks should be of recent music, or just recently made tracks. KV regularly make tracks in many languages, but some of them are of classic material, not just current or recent chart material.

I have gone back to my original Vinyl, CD re-pressings, etc to try to find something that I can use to isolate a useable backing track. The difficulty I am having is that this particular era of recordings used some strange mixing techniques, especially for the more Prog Rock type bands looking for that 'ethereal' type sound... In the case of Come Away Melinda, it sounds like a very simple Four Stem mix, but is complicated due to the instruments on the track that are not readily broken apart by most of the available de-mixing software out there. Add to that the variable dynamics of the vocals, even stripping out the vocals alone ends up with a backing track that sounds like someone went wild with the side-chain! The best I have managed to put together so far is This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Let me know if it meets your standards for a backing track, and if so, I will sync the lyrics up for you.

Hiya yes that is great thankyou very much. It's a big ask but is there anyway to put the backing vocals on, if not it's not a problem. Thanks once again.

Thanks once again. I can try that for you, there are three vocal parts, Daddy, Melinda and Narrator, as well as backing 'Aahs'. Do you want the lyrics split for three voices?

When it asks me to share it asks me to put someones name into it If you have the files in a folder on MEGA, select that folder, then click on the three dots at the end of that line, and select share link. That will open a Share Link window, Click on Copy Link, then return to this chat. If you type in the name of the folder you are sharing, and highlight it, then click on the link icon at the top of the chat box you are typing in (it looks like two links of a chain), right clicht and select 'Copy'. Once you have done that, just click on the Insert button and you should be ok... 1
