How to show your appreciation here.
AKA How to say Thank You
Tony da Ink posted here for the first time yesterday and then posted again
about the sheer amount of posts in this group - over 400 of them.
That's an awful lot of stuff to read here for anybody new to this forum, and
a hell of a lot of it is a complete waste of space - just people saying thanks - in
some places page after page of it; and while it might mean something at the time
it'll mean nothing on the next day.
I know that it's simple to just click Reply and say thankyou - but that's just the
equivalent of the old AOL days when there where pages of people saying
Me Too to almost anything posted.
If you look at the bottom right of articles posted here you'll see - RIGHT NEXT
TO THE REPLY ICON - a thumbsup and (not to be used lightly) a
thumbsdown button and if you hover your cursor over those two icons you
get a choice of 24 replies that run the gamut form from Like to Dumb.
When you click one of those icons it does more than just show your appreciation
for what you've just read, it adds points to that person's reaction score - which
doesn't actually mean a whole lot - does look good in the box with your name
and details on the left.
Also, beneath those two thumbs buttons and RIGHT NEXT TO the reply icon you
can see a single clickable word - [Like] - and hovering your cursor over that
will give you a further choice of reaction icons from ThumbsUp through Love
and HaHa to Wow, Sad and Angry.
