Sorry to be late replying. I think that I have sorted as much as might expect. It just made me want to stamp my foot when a recovery program showed me #files but didn't show any obvous way of recovering them. I switched programs in the end.

You're probably (like me) in the UK, where access to many torrent sites is blocked by order of the government. Use a VPN or access via the UNBLOCKIT site.

UNBLOCKIT is a safe site that has been helping torrenteers for a long while. If you have a problem with Malware Bytes, do the following: Open Malwarebytes for Windows. Click the Detection History Click the Allow List To add an item to the Allow List, click Add. Select Allow a website. Select Add a URL and enter the domain that you want to exclude. Click on Done and the domain should appear in your Allow List.

Unblockit is a great program and has been used to avoid national bans for a long while. Programs like Norton try block anything that is even slightly abnormal. Similarly NVG will actually delete your uTorrent program file if it detects a virus or what it might call a virus (such as crack programs) in what you're downloading - for that reason I always keep a copy or three of uTorrent.exe in the folder. HOW??? I hear you ask, go to the uTorrent diretory, then click on the exe file and hold the button down then drag the program to an empty part of the folder p-0 that will giveyou a copy of the main program in theat directory, called utorrent_2.2.1_build_25302 - Copy.exe - and if you do it again it'll be utorrent_2.2.1_build_25302 - Copy - Copy.exe
