Pinned KARAOKE ENTHUSIAST CHAT

Unfortunately, I have not worked at this venue before, as I stated, this is a new job, so I am going in with just the fact that the first event is a dinner and karaoke night, so it may cover ages from 20 up. So I figured I may want to bolster my French track listings. That was the reason I just threw the line in requesting French Language tracks. Any and all I can round up, whether they be new, old, rock, country etc. could never hurt.

Here are some KV French karaoke songs

You've been very helpful to this forum recently, putting up

HM tracks for others.

These are those that I have with your SHW prefix, and looking

at the numbering it could be that I've missed some - and I'd

be grateful if you'd fill in those missing(s) if they exist; I'd

search the forum but the expression SHW or even SHW-00

are too short to search on.

SHW-00207 - Chairmen Of The Board - Shaggin' The Night Away

SHW-00208 - The Showmen - Shaggin' The Night Away

SHW-00210 - David Essex - Ocean Girl

SHW-00215 - Teddy Thompson - In My Arms

SHW-00216 - Delbert McClinton - He Will Break Your Heart

SHW-00217a - Uriah Heep - Come Away Melinda (WBGV)

SHW-00218 - Bryan Ferry - This Is Tomorrow

SHW-00219 - Doctor Who - The Goblin Song

<DUH> Having just posted the above. I've now found a SHOWTIME

folder with a ZIP file in it that you posted to the thread last year

filling most of those gaps.

Thank you once again for your sterling efforts.

That's OK BJ.

As I explained to someone a while ago, Showtime began as my attempt at a 'fake brand' joke between myself and several other KJ's, where we played around with different ideas, spoof tracks, (including some with upside down or backwards lyrics). The one rule we had at the time was that the tracks had to not be commercially available at that point...

Many of the original tracks we turned out, surprisingly, appeared on commercial sites soon after we created them and started using them in our own shows... go figure!

When I had a HD crash about 9 years ago, sadly I lost many of the tracks because I had not kept the original construction files (lyric data, backing tracks etc.) and to this day there are about 40 that I can't even remember what the tracks were!

I lost interest in the brand at that point and only restarted using it a couple of years ago for the odd track or two. When I joined the forum, I realised that I could help others again by putting it to use and have now got back into creating tracks that people can't find elsewhere.

The files that I do still have, and all the new constructions are now in my

<Big Snip>

Aaaah!!! Backwards :devilish:

I don't suppose that at any time you made Rover's "Window the in Doggie

That is Much How" did you?

It was a spoof put out as the first release on [iIRC] Robert Stigwood's RSO

record label (same label as Clapton and the BeeGees); it was Tim Rice's party

piece and consisted of the lyrics for "How Much is That Doggie in the Window"

being sung backwards.

I only ever heard it and got hold of it because I was on Polydor's DJ mailing list

at the time; they probaly sent out more promos than they sold records :ROFLMAO:

No, we never got round to that one, although it had been suggested... When I say we did backwards lyrics I mean the lyrics were Printed on screen backwards, completely, and wiped backwards too. We also inverted screens so they appeared upside down, and similarly wiped from bottom line to to top!

We also did things like 'My Boy's Lollipop', 'Brown Nose Girl', 'Can You Feel The Horse?' and other over the line parodies!

If you do manage to dig them out (or any of the others in your little

combine) then don't be afraid to share them.

The days have gone when you could sing almost anything at karaoke

shows (cheers, Thank You MeToo) but some gigs demand them :devilish: :alien::devilish::alien::unsure:

Don't get me started on that mentality, I had one of my middle-aged singers almost attacked and certainly verbally assaulted for having the the temerity to sing 'Needles And Pins' by the Searchers!!

He was accused of being a "white, middle-aged, sexist misogynist", by some 19-24ish female, (I won't use the term lady, she certainly was not one with what came out of her mouth!). Luckily the singer was supported not only by myself but also by the venue owner who 'politely' informed her her custom was no longer welcomed in the venue. (In fact i think she told her to go outside with all the other snowflakes before she had a meltdown.... It wasn't even winter!)
