  1. How to show your appreciation here. AKA How to say Thank You Tony da Ink posted here for the first time yesterday and then posted again about the sheer amount of posts in this group - over 400 of them. That's an awful lot of stuff to read here for anybody new to this forum, and a hell of a lot of it is a complete waste of space - just people saying thanks - in some places page after page of it; and while it might mean something at the time it'll mean nothing on the next day. I know that it's simple to just click Reply and say thankyou - but that's just the equivalent of the old AOL days when there where pages of people saying Me Too to almost anything posted. If you look at the bottom right of articles posted here you'll see - RIGHT NEXT TO THE REPLY ICON - a thumbsup and (not to be used lightly) a thumbsdown button and if you hover your cursor over those two icons you get a choice of 24 replies that run the gamut form from Like to Dumb. When you click one of those icons it does more than just show your appreciation for what you've just read, it adds points to that person's reaction score - which doesn't actually mean a whole lot - does look good in the box with your name and details on the left. Also, beneath those two thumbs buttons and RIGHT NEXT TO the reply icon you can see a single clickable word - [Like] - and hovering your cursor over that will give you a further choice of reaction icons from ThumbsUp through Love and HaHa to Wow, Sad and Angry.
  2. Yep. 1drive has almost always given me problems
  3. Obviously I have a prob with Micro$oft or vice versa cos it's still the same; just did the obvious and checked - and I have it already <blush>.
  4. I just get an on-screen messge telling me: Something went wrong. We're having some trouble. Please try again later,
  5. Right now, 12 minutes after you postd the above link, the link is dead.
  6. Beatles. All band names beginning with The have that word deleted. EXCEPT for one band - The The
  7. For a long time I've kept them in number order with the format KV-#######, but now I am, gradually, changing them to Artist - Title - KV-Number Several reasons for this but the main one is because of the wide disparity in numbering prefixes that are coming my way :- 2 (at least) different cat numbers depending on where you get them from or where you see them listed; KV, KV-, KVD, KVD- Another reason is that I have several/many where no number is present when I get it and I can't find by checking on iCroons, and when I check the song on the KV site, it's not there, so presumably removed for copyright reasons. I leave those track with a simple - KV at the end of the title so that I know what company produced it. I've found (particularly in Rap and R&B songs) wide differences in the naming. up to 8 or 9 versions of the artist. I always leave the number part (if I have it) of the catalogue number in the ID3s as a track number. Naming by artist seemed the logical solution after years of kicking against it because I collected (I suppose like a trainspotter collecting numbers) everything that I could, regardless of whether I'd use it or not. I'm also, again gradually, doing the same with my SBI tracks; these don't come as SBI, but with a G or T prefix. The same numbers being used for both their CD+G and MP4 tracks; and also with their multiplexed songs.
  8. Would you send the key please ??
  9. No idea what happened there, checked the whole lot in bulk and just re-downloaded those showing up as faulty. Checking those in your list above all of those in the DL were indeed faulty except for the Buble track, I already have all but the Cam - Mayday track. I now need the encryption key from Mee7532 to check against the download so I'll drop him a PM about that. When I get the key I shall re-check Mee7532 gave a thumbsup and a couple of other agreements to my post, so I assumed that my figures were/are correct; again when I get the encryption key I can re-download - thank goodess for my VPN which lets me DL at 5GB at a time
  10. Thanx Mee for this great share. For those of you that want to check, there should be 5,540 files. BUT!! Two of those were included twice, so 5,542 : KV108773 - Ella Fitzgerald - Night And Day --> two versions, one @128 the other @160 KV10829462 - Obscurest Vinyl - I'd Really Like To Get In Your Pants (Because I Just Shit In Mine) -- two identical versions. Let me advise you to check the ZIPs once you've downloaded and extracted them.. MEGA has a nasty habit of corrupting files on the way to you. I use WinRAR to check them, and found that 10 of them were not OK; if you find a problem like that just go back to MEGA and download the faulty files individually - and they should be OK
  11. I don't use Mega to share, so know nothing of how to restrict what you're sharing, I do a fair amount of private sharing and I do that 15GB at a time on GDrive. The one thing that could be done is to make a Text File of the address and password and then put it on (say) GoogleDrive which I know can be password restricted to only those that you want to share with; other password-enabled sites may be/are available
  12. Lee, Just a thought that it may not be possible to do. Can you password protect your Mega share ??
  13. As an addendum to what I werote above, I can see at thetop of this page that right now, as I type, there are just two members browsing this forum - AND TWENTY-THREE GUESTS !!! If you're one of those guests how about joining us in this forum and joining the discussion ???
  14. Like most forums on the web you can read this forum without joining, but it's for non-members it's read-only so they can't post anything. That's probably how many of you found this forum, by using a search engine, those search sites trawl the web finding any and everything that they can so that they can serve up results.
  15. When Zoom issued their Vocal Stars series they were originally All Stars, I think they issued two as ZAS and then switched to ZVS. I'll make them available if you don't have them.
  16. Miss Kitti hasn't been around for a while - taking a long sabatical right now; I miss her sense of humour PM or email me if you think that you know who it is. It's one of those things, as soon as something is posted somewhere that it can be found, then others will try to take credit for it. Tyat was one of the reasons that I started putting intrusively large bookmarks on my scans - MutzNutz reposted everything that I ripped and posted and put them into their issues; I couldn't really care less except that they ripped out all of my ID3 tags before they did it.
  17. I know which site they're being uploaded to, Uploader calls themselves Bakes87 - 35yr old Male from the UK.
  18. Here you go, from Music Maestro @ 128kb/sec MM6337-01 - Elvis Presley - Pocketful of Rainbows [from GI Blues]
  19. Sorry bout that mate, I put them in the root rather than the directory. Now Fixed
  20. Two versions here, one's an MP3+G from JAG's HM karaoke. Second version is the Pioneer LaserDisc - 2 copies, first is the AVI that I originally got from UseNet way back in the 90s, second one I've enhanced the graphics to the best of me abilities and savewd as an MP4. Barbara Dixon - Answer Me
  21. They're good VFM, I've bought a couple of those packs in the past.
  22. To help fill out Lee's amazing Mega Share, here are some of Zoom's Pop Box series that I didn't see in the listing. They'll be uploading for the next couple of hours so don't expect to see that upload completed until about 2am UK time. Zoom missings on GoogleDrive This is what I'm sharing: Zoom Pop Box 3 Zoom Pop Box 2013 Zoom Pop Box 2014 Zoom Pop Box 2015 Zoom Pop Box 80s Zoom Pop Box Musicals
  23. Lee, It would most likely be a great help to the others here (especially new visitors) if you left a link to your MEGA share as part of your (at the moment non-existent) signature. You can add/change your signature by going to the top of any forum page and clicking on your username - you'll se a heap of options; 7th down on the left is signature, or clicking on this link: SIGNATURE.
  24. Can't remember that, but the memory is one of the first things to go Back in the day, in the usenet sounds.mp3 groups in the mid to late 90s - 128kb/s was considered absolute luxury!! There was no Broadband (at least not in the UK) With the speakers that we used then it was next to impossible to hear whether a CD had been ripped at a higher rate that 128kb/sec, and for mono tracks ie. most 50s and 60s music it was general to rip at 64kb/sec mono. It was only at the beginning of this century that 192kb/sec started appearing regularly. When I rip nowadays I rip at 320kb/sec - but that's only to keep downloaders happy; on my computer's "Creative" I can't hear a difference. A helluva lotta karaoke discs until recently were mono as well Must agree, I do prefer Zoom and it's my go to, but he is careless with his lyrics missing "Any way the wind goes" from the end of Bohemian rhapsody was carelessness of the highest order - and they have a large number of other lyric errors, like most companies they get Roger Miller's "King of the Road" line "Short but too big or round" (ie they've been stepped on) substituting 'around' rather than 'or round' Yep agree about that, general old age for me, but my diabetes is causing me probs right now - have a second eye welfare check next week because the normal one couldn't see behind my cataracts which are not getting better. So, your other two eyes are OK then ?? <GBFG> AGREED !!!!
